06-07 August 2011 Potipot

After the excruciating 8 hour bus ride from Manila, we settled in a resort to leave our stuff behind and only bring important ones in the island. There was a storm but we pushed through since the boat ride would only take 5 minutes, but since our boat was small, the waves went crushing like crazy. And what was supposed to be a chill boat ride became a LIFE OF PHI experience. It was dark when we reached the island, we had to stay in a nipa hut because setting up a tent was impossible with the heavy rain and dark night. There was no lights in the island, so you really have to bring flashlights. We rented a hut where Amara and I can stay because I had to keep Amara safe from the rain. We also set up 2 tents where Clares, Beth, Sunil and Boo slept. We were not able to swim that hard because the current was quite string and I had to look after Amara. We enjoyed though.

Potipot Island is a small island which you can walk for 30 minutes, yes it is that small. But it has a lot to offer. What I love the place are the trees, grass growing on sands and just because it was away from the mainland. It offers serenity if not crowded.
